A dynamic US legal firm currently has an opportunity for a high performing Business Development professional to provide support for the implementation of marketing and business development activities across the European Capital Markets practice of the London office.

The Senior Business Development Executive will work closely with the Business Development Manager to support marketing and business development efforts which, collaborating with colleagues across different offices, particularly in Europe and occasionally with New York. The role offers a balance of project ownership and autonomy with the opportunity to get involved in team initiatives in a dynamic and international environment, with significant partner liaison. You will work closely with the Practice Group Leader and others in the team to prepare the annual practice group business plan as well as the marketing plan to support it and manage the implementation of the plans, working closely with the wider group of partners and associates to facilitate the execution of these plans. On the pitching and proposal side, it will be the individual's responsibility to draft, compile and produce pitch documents, proposals and client presentations. You will assist the BDM in managing the Capital Markets client coverage programme, targeting banks, private equity sponsors, issuers, financial advisers and other law firms, and ensure the team is collaborating and cross-selling effectively with other practices, especially leverage finance and private equity. The Senior BD Executive will also be responsible for managing the legal directories and league table processes including writing compelling directory submissions and reporting and analysing the firm's rankings. On the more general side of Business Development support, responsibilities include, designing and developing print and online client materials, including brochures and marketing materials, assisting with updating practice group content for the firm's website and developing seminars and events. The individual will also organise research on clients, targets and market opportunities to support practice group activities.

A successful candidate will have at least 2-3 years' experience in marketing and business development, preferably in the legal sector, but most certainly a professional services firm, with previous experience of financial markets being highly desirable .The Senior BD Executive must be familiar with planning and preparing pitches and presentations, legal directories and other marketing materials. It is also essential to have strong attention to detail and a positive and enthusiastic work ethic.
