We are working on an exciting Head of Marketing and Business Development role with a well known and respected professional services firm. Previous experience in the sector would be preferable but is not essential.

Job Description:

The role will sit in the marketing team, reporting directly to the leadership team.

Competencies will include:

Team Management

Consistently assess the impact of the marketing function in supporting the profitability and brand value of the firm.

Management of the wider marketing team, including an Executive.

Business Plan

Work with the Managing Partners and broader leadership team to develop a clear Marketing and BD strategy for the firm.

Support Directors and Heads of Department with the development and implementation of a BD strategy for their area

Digital Marketing

Take responsibility for the company website, including using your own skills and utilising the wider marketing team to produce regular engaging content e.g. blogs, videos.

Manage the relationship between the firm and specialist digital agency e.g. PPC, SEO.

Develop an effective social media strategy.

Improve and develop digital interactions with clients which enhance the "client experience".

Internal Communications

Develop and maintain an effective internal communications strategy, covering all sites.

Improve cross-selling and upselling of legal services within and between departments.

Public Relations

Actively seek opportunities to gain positive PR coverage.


Formulating plans for marketing materials and activity that will most effectively promote the firm when attending or hosting events.

Assist Lawyers when necessary on speeches/ presentations etc.

Assist Lawyers on event strategy, including best practice and highlighting who to actively target.

Business Development

Assist with general targeting activity.

Management of a client feedback programme and developing strategies to retain clients through regular contact/updates.

Budget Management

Management of the marketing department budget, including analysis of the effectiveness of spend, that can be shared and discussed with the Managing Partners.
