Job Purpose

The B2B division of the Financial Times licenses digital FT content to organisations around the world, with clients across corporate, finance, government, professional services, education and media sectors. The Marketing Executive will be responsible for managing marketing activity to support acquisition and engagement amongst these sectors in the EMEA region. The role will require a broad mix of marketing skills covering email/social/online campaigns, events and sales enablement. The role requires close collaboration and coordination with sales and customer success teams.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver digital campaigns. The role has a strong focus on digital campaigns, covering email, social media and PPC/AdWords and other digital tactics
  • Create a close working relationship with key stakeholders within the business, in particular the relevant sales teams. Agree marketing plans and strategies to generate leads
  •  Implement marketing campaign tactics and manage the end-to-end process from copy writing, working with the design team, building contact lists, deploying campaigns and tracking success
  • Work with the internal teams/vendors to build the prospect lists and with the sales development team to qualify senior level suspects from marketing campaigns 
  • Integrate online activity with offline, using events to engage with audiences
  • Ensure effective campaign communication internally and update the CRM system with leads and activities to ensure marketing activity can be measured
  • Analyse data, identify market trends, draw conclusions and seeks rationales (e.g. Excel skills, Salesforce reporting) to manage and monitor campaign activities
  • Use customer research and insight to develop sales tools, such as case studies, collateral and presentations
  • Manage external vendors/agencies. Manage briefing, production process and ensure delivery on time and budget
  • Understand FT and B2B strategic plans, goals and aims, as well as the key customer audiences and segments (industry, job function) and tailor marketing activity accordingly
  • Articulate requirements of local market and cultural implications in the value proposition, messaging and marketing tactics

Qualifications / Competencies / Skills / Experience


  • Demonstrates knowledge of key marketing principles and digital marketing tools: marketing automation, online ads, social media, Google Analytics
  • Significant experience in executing email marketing activity in a business-to-business environment, using CRM, email marketing platforms and reporting
  • Has experience of working with sales teams and using campaigns to generate leads
  • Good analytical skills, comfortable working with data and CRM technologies to a high standard of quality and accuracy
  • Strong project management skills with a thorough attention to details (milestones, deadlines and deliverables)
  • Demonstrates professional copy-writing and proofreading skills
  • Has evidence of working collaboratively with other teams to achieve results. Willingness to learn and ask questions
  • Able to socialize with and relate to a wide range of people/teams in an honest, professional and friendly manner
  • Ability to bring creative ideas to the table and effectively communicate them to wider working groups
  • Shows organisational and problem solving skills, strong attention to detail and a resilience to handling high levels of complexity in a fast paced and pressurised environment
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach to getting things done. Takes the initiative and manages multiple projects simultaneously
  • Quick learner, able to adapt work to accommodate unexpected changes with flexibility to thrive in a complex business environment
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, meets deadlines and takes ownership and accountability for own results
  • Enthusiastic, with a positive attitude and a strong will to succeed


  • Marketing qualification
  • Knowledge of HTML coding and Adobe suite 
  • Knows how to use Salesforce and Marketo
  • International exposure and cultural awareness would be a big plus
