This role drives fame for the business by planning, managing and implementing all PR and proactive social media.

Client Details

My Client is a forward thinking food retail business based in Central London. They're seeking an passionate PR professional with a background in food and drink PR.


The PR & Social Media Manager will develop a PR and Social strategy for the ongoing brand building of the business - one that reflects the heart of company, drives top of mind awareness and recognition for the brand. Coupled with the ability to maximise reactive PR opportunities!

The key activity will involve the following:

Develop and deliver the execution of all PR and proactive Social Media activity.

Drive regular, ongoing product placements in key target publications.

Build a small series of deeper, brand-building stories and place them in key titles.

Develop and nurture a list of key journalist and influence contacts.

Work closely with the Marketing Director and Brand Communications Manager to determine the appropriate balance of investment between relevant channels.

Work in conjunction with the Marketing Director (and external resource as required) to build the external media narrative

Works cross-functionally with other teams such as Customer Service and Product Marketing & Development to ensure that PR & Social Media opportunities are activated.


The successful PR & Social Media Manager will bring the following skills & attributes:

Strong consumer PR and Press Office experience, including digital, ideally within multi-site food retail.

Passionate and knowledgeable about food and food trends

Enjoys writing & creating engaging consumer content and pushing out messaging through traditional and new channels

Can evidence strong management skills of issues related PR

Results oriented with strong commercial and strategic judgement

Excellent relationship builder, using a range of effective influencing skills (to external contacts, to peers, to more senior levels and more junior levels) to engage others to achieve success and get things done
