An opportunity has arisen for a Marketing & Communications Manager to lead and mentor their successful marketing team on a full time basis.


The Marketing & Communications Manager will develop and implement cohesive annual marketing and communication plans to assist our client in achieving their business plan to increase customer acquisition, increase order value and loyalty so as to drive increased profitable sales.

Key responsibilities include:

* Oversee and control the Company's marketing budget to ensure spend is within set limits and that it is used effectively, including making effective and timely use of the brands' co-opted marketing budgets
* To ensure team objectives are set, understood, measured and that performance feedback is given through regular team meetings and 1-2-1s
* To promote and ensure the co-ordination and collaboration between the 'sub-teams' responsible for the company's marketing, brochure and digital offering
* This post calls for a creative thinker with the ability to work at pace on challenging briefs
* Consideration of multi-channel campaigns and activations to deliver optimal results
* A record of accomplishment in above and below the line marketing will include audience insight, creative development and campaign planning. You will need an excellent understanding of all marketing channels, print, advertising, exhibitions, digital and social media
* Manage, mentor, motivate, coach and develop the company's marketing team
* Ensure all marketing activities are implemented in a way that is consistent and coherent with the company's brand strategy and values
* Develop an in-depth understanding of our current and potential customers to ensure all marketing messages are expertly targeted in order to maximise the return from our activities
* Work closely with all Company departments to develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of our products, offering and markets both current and target
* Work closely with the Customer Services Team and Sales Team to ensure a best in class customer experience is maintained
* To develop and implement a process for obtaining, analysing, evaluating and reporting on marketing and PR activities (qualitative and quantitative metrics)
* Contribute to the formulation of policy and strategy and provide management reports and updates as required to provide analysis on campaigns/return on investment and to ensure the smooth running and growth of the business
* Ensure the team track, review and share competitor activity
* Maintain and develop the company's excellent brand relationships


The successful Marketing & Communications Manager will have:

* A degree in Marketing
* Extensive knowledge of current marketing and communications theories and practices
* Strategic mindset with the ability to make difficult decisions, problem solve and self-motivate
* A solid marketing background within a fast paced B2B environment
* Evidence of the ability to develop, deliver, and measure successful marketing plans through all marketing channels
* Experience of budget management, control and cost negotiation
* Strong analytical and commercial skills and experience
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report writing
* Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
* Evidence of strong leadership and management skills with prior experience of leading a sizeable team, and the ability to coach and mentor to develop the individuals and the overall team, to help them become the best that they can be
* Demonstrate a track record of embracing and delivering change
* Looks for opportunities to challenge and develop the ways things are done
* Extensive knowledge, skills and practical application of: offline marketing strategy both below and above the line; online, digital and social media strategy; public relations and internal communications planning and strategy
* A willingness to travel in the UK and overseas required from time to time
* Experience of managing relationships effectively with agencies, suppliers and key partners
