Unique opportunity for an Event Director to join a forward-thinking Marketing, Design & Events Agency to build on the Events business under the existing platform of the company. Reporting to the Directors, the role will require event management expertise and the commercial expertise required to build on the business and generate new business opportunities.

Unique & Innovative Marketing, Design & Events agency based in London.


The successful Head of Events will require a time spread of 40% delivering existing pipeline of events, 40% developing accounts/new business & 20% strategic planning.

Key responsibilities include:

Strategy Planning

* Work with the Directors to establish a viable Business Model and Strategic Business Plan for the events business.
* Create an overall annual events strategy for existing clients.

Business Development

* Experience in creating a marketing/sales plan and generating new business activity.
* Identify new sales opportunities within existing client relationships and establish a new client base.
* Solution selling to establish other areas the company can support clients in addition to event management.

Event Management

* Manage all aspects of the events, including delegate management, design, production and logistics
* Creativity input to event strategy
* Manage accurate budget control
* Manage all supplier contracts and relationships
* Produce detailed reports of each event and calendars for Directors
* Manage staffing for each event appropriately
* Ensure timely processing of all invoices and new vendor set up, where appropriate
* Run stock levels held on behalf of clients

Client Servicing

* Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships
* Establish good relationships with client sponsors and stakeholders
* Develop a trusted advisory relationship with key clients
* Ensure timely and successful delivery of services according to client objectives
* Monthly status meetings with clients
* Post event analysis and measurement

Managing a Team

* Experience in managing a team and staff performance
* With growth of new business, build and extend the team


The successful candidate will have a background of in house and Agency Event management experience at a senior level with solid understanding of developing accounts, generating new business and ROI.

Skills Required

* Confidence to work at a senior level with clients
* Working to business model and budgets
* Experience of Event Strategy Planning
* Ability to be creative and hold brain storming sessions
* Competent in processing large amounts of data quickly and accurately
* Ability to multi-task and work to a tight deadline under pressure
* Proven ability to work well within a team and manage a team professionally on site
* Extremely well organised with an ability to organise others
* Essential IT skills: Excel, PowerPoint and Word (Mac Based)
* Ability to manage and own workload
* Strong problem-solver, Proactive and not afraid to use initiative
* Minimum 8 years event management experience
* Ideally have worked in a marketing or event management agency
* Commercial skills associated with running a business
* Travel will be required

Job Offer

Competitive salary and benefits package on offer but minimum £60k+.
