The Bid Writer will look to support the New Business Team by producing industry leading responses to formal bid requests from active prospects; who are often large corporates.

Our Client, based in Leeds, is a well established and respected business in the Automotive industry. They have a strong reputation for excellence, and their work is renowned throughout the market.

The role lies in a fast paced sales environment within a massively growing organisation. The New Business department is a close and vibrant team of 20+ people who often have to work to tight customer deadlines.

The team itself is divided between Sales, Sales Support and Implementation; this particular role lands within the Sales Support area.


Description

The Bid Writer will be responsible for supporting the New Business sales process by producing and preparing bid responses and formal presentations for delivery to active prospects.

You must also oversee recording of key opportunities information within the 'Bid Brief', which will be communicated to all project stakeholders, delivering a clear overview of the bid requirements.

You will also conduct bid reviews with BDMs to gain insight and develop the response strategy.

In addition, you will liase with the other team members / internal departments to manage internal responses, particularly with the preparation of a formal bid response.

The Bid Writer is also responsible for delivering bid responses, for all bid types including specialist products such as LCV, ECO, Blended and White Label, in the required format(s), ensuring accuracy and delivery within agreed timescales.

Tracking bid activity/progress within the 'Bid Checklist' to enable key stakeholders to access a live update of ongoing bid progress at any time, will also be included in the role.

Recording an accurate and detailed log of all additional information requests will also be involved, including requests to the prospect and internal departments.

Managing and updating a growing bid reference library will be key in this role, to ensure the client is always prepared.



Assist with both the general workload for hitting project deadlines and the preparation of awards submissions in conjunction with the Marketing team.

Providing support with the compiling of existing customer bids alongside internal teams. Also, there will be a reviewing of bid feedback; with this being passed along to the relevant internal parties for discussion of improvements with future responses. You would also search for suitable business opportunities through portal memberships.

Finally, you will implement new procedures in a positive manner and ensure the team has up to date information on changes across the business at all times.

Extensive knowledge of various software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio applications

Ability to work within high pressure situations ensuring deadline objectives are achieved through effective planning and use of additional support resources

Exceptional organisation skills

Excellent communication skills to build relationships with and secure the co-operation of internal teams to assist you with producing market leading responses

Commercial acumen and understanding of a sales environment
