My client is looking for a Membership Engagement specialist to come on board with a key emphasis being on the development of new business/members, through both on and offline channels - 'marcomms' and face to face at events etc.

Client Details

My client operate within the Not for Profit and Charities space, and are set-up as a Membership Body. Based in London, my client are very highly regarded within their field and are the go to organisation within which it operates. You will often see them in/on high profile publications and media outlets.

My client are currently experiencing record growth, and are keen to get someone on board who can add to that, and bring new idea's to the table. The organisation provide numerous products and services. This includes CPD, Thought-Leadership, Examinations, Training Modules, and other learning products, as well as providing events of all sizes within the area of which it operates.


The successful Membership and Business Development Manager will be required to:

Line Manage the Membership and Marketing Executive.

By meeting with and speaking to stakeholder groups, really get to understand who the members are, why they are members and their general needs.

Put together a strategy with fellow internal Senior Management that supports members throughout their career/membership journey - and has a real focus at the development of new business.

Ensure that said strategy focuses around recruitment, retention, communications and general membership engagement through numerous channels on and offline.

Experience of attending and putting on events of different topic areas. Engaging with speakers.

Putting together marketing collateral off the back of BD to further engage and promote products and services

Using numerous types of research, gain an insight into how the organisation is viewed externally, and work on membership services/products accordingly.

Develop Membership categories and stakeholder groups to ensure more consistant messaging and general relevant engagement


The ideal Membership and Business Development Manager will demonstrate:

A minimum of 4 years experience working within a membership/marketing/communications and/or business development set-up

Line management responsibility preferred

Ideally have a successful track record of developing and delivering member/customer

Must be able to demonstrate success in a professional business development/engagement arena

Ability to work effectively with other departments and teams

A real pro-active and fast paced attitude, and someone that isn't afraid to wear different hats.

Job Offer

The Membership and Business Development Manager is a permanent post and will be line managing a membership and marketing executive. The role is based in Central London and is paying £45,000 with a superb benefits package (of which I can explain more about on the phone).
