The Marketing Executive – Content, Social & PR (ME-CSPR) is responsible for the duties outlined below and reports to the PR & Social Media Manager (PRSMM).
The ME-CSPR is responsible for Cox & Kings’ B2C social media activity, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, Pinterest, LinkedIn and other social networks as applicable. The role is responsible for updating content and engaging with followers through the various social media, and also in supporting the Digital Marketing Manager in the administration of social media advertising campaigns.
Compass Online & Richer Web Content
Compass Online is the magazine / blog section of the Cox & Kings website. The ME-CSPR is responsible for sourcing and / or writing articles, blogs and other content to add richer information to Compass Online and the main Cox & Kings website, with a view to improving engagement with the site, improving click-through rates from promotional emails, providing content for third-party sites to link to, and generating improved high quality traffic to the site through improved search engine visibility.
The ME-CSPR is responsible for improving the number of high-quality links into the Cox & Kings website from third-party sites.
Reporting & Analysis
The ME-CSPR is responsible for running regular reports and analysis on all aspects of the performance of the company’s social media channels and Compass Online.
SEO & Online Content Best Practice
The ME-CSPR is responsible for keeping up to date with the latest intelligence on search engine optimisation (SEO) and the development of richer online content.
Public Relations Support
Support the PRSMM in all aspects of PR, including handling all media enquiries to the ‘Press Office’ when the PRSMM is out of the office.
Support the PRSMM in all aspects of reputation management for the Cox & Kings brand.
The ME-CSPR supports the Digital Marketing Manager and Online Marketing Executive in all aspects of website content loading, checking and enhancing.
Text Proofing, Editing, Correcting And Writing Support
At peak times, the ME-CSPR supports the Senior Publications Executive (SPE) in the proofing, editing, correcting and writing of copy used in promotional materials.
Client Event Support
The ME-CSPR supports the organisation of client events, including assisting with all aspects of event planning and set-up; attending events and speaking to clients; and researching and sourcing potential speakers for events.
General Marketing Responsibilities
Assist in any other matters arising in the day-to-day activities of the Marketing Department, or with support in other departments, as directed.
This role is suitable for someone looking for an introductory role into online marketing, content marketing and PR in the travel industry, the ideal candidate would have the following experience and qualities:
A strong interest in (and, ideally, the experience of) travel in general and destinations relevant to Cox & Kings in particular.
An interest in the wider news, including new film, theatre, publishing, television, art and other cultural events which could tie in with the promotion of Cox & Kings products.
Some prior experience of online marketing and / or a relevant qualification. Experience may include running a personal blog and using various social media platforms to promote it.
Highly literate with an exceptional eye for written and design detail. The attention-to-detail expectations for this role are very high.
Good copywriting skills and confidence to research and write original copy.
Exceptional ability at planning, organising and prioritising complex multi-faceted work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to communicate key information up and down the line and to consult when necessary.
Proficiency at use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, content management systems, including WordPress, plus a knowledge of the essential elements of Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Photoshop software. Some knowledge of HTML, email software and video editing software is preferred.
