An exciting opportunity has arisen for an events specialist to join a leading law firm on a 3 month fixed term contract basis. You will be tasked with planning and executing events in accordance with the firm's best practices and strategy.

The Interim Events Executive will devise, research and project manage events from conception to completion, such as client receptions, seminars, conferences and corporate hospitality events. You will be the point of contact for the events, and will have responsibility over areas including budgeting, assisting with venue choice, liaising with lawyers, catering selection, staffing of event on the day, managing invitations, client lists and RSVPs, and follow-up post-event. You will be required to devise project plans and timelines to ensure the event planning is managed to a suitable timescale, and to work alongside the business development team and relevant lawyers in order to determine event objectives and effective follow-up programmes. You will establish event budgets, maintain and promote the internal events calendar, and be involved in researching options for venues and suppliers.

The successful candidate will be a highly organised and creative individual with at least two years' events experience within a legal or other professional services firm, and will be able to bring contacts within the industry of recommended suppliers. The Interim Events Executive must have excellent written and oral communication skills and well-developed proof-reading and editing skills, as well as be able to write original marketing copy with clarity, concision and sensitivity to appropriate tone and content of the target audience. You must demonstrate a solutions-oriented mindset, a high attention to detail, and the capability to work efficiently in a deadline-driven, demanding work environment as a member of a team. It will be important that you can create and work with budgets of varying sizes, understand and negotiate contracts, and build and maintain a wide network of other event planners and third party resources. Intermediate computing skills are also important and a marketing or event management qualification would be advantageous.
