The Head of Alumni and Supporter Relations will develop and deliver the Alumni and Development strategy and associated enabling plans in line with the University's strategic plan. You will be responsible for the line management, coaching and development of the Alumni Engagement and Communications Manager, Head of Development and Stewardship, Alumni Relations Researcher.

Description

Affinity relations and driving reputation



To deliver the strategy to develop ongoing strong affinity relations with the alumni community, including the development and delivery of a programme of engagement that encourages lifelong learning and bring real benefit to the careers of our alumni.



To identify, negotiate and manage alumni affinity marketing schemes and other alumni benefits.



The post holder will be responsible for managing the Alumni Engagement and Communications Manager to deliver range of reunions, regular communications and engagement strategies to develop mutually beneficial relationships with alumni.



To oversee the delivery of a systematic programme of alumni communications this will include a regular e-bulletin, on and offline communications and marketing collateral (flyers, contribution to graduation gazette and prospectuses).



To identify notable alumni and develop profiles for use in reputational, employability and recruitment campaigns both in the UK and internationally. To develop strategies for on-going engagement with notable alumni and relevant schools and the wider University community.



Building life-long learning alumni networks and sector/market career hubs



To develop professional networks of alumni that are aligned to strategically important sectors for the universities future development and the careers of our graduates and alumni. This will include development of an engagement programme that is a mixture of on-line and face-to-face engagement focused around sectors.



The programme should drive real value for our alumni for their career development and to provide opportunities for upskilling and reskilling in key sectors.



To build and facilitate alumni networks - both local and where possible global, particularly by maximising new technology and social media but also by ensuring a healthy programme of reunions and other alumni events. This includes building strong links with our regional recruitment hubs and our overseas campuses and other overseas partners to deliver events and other activity outside the UK.



Working in close collaboration with the Director of Corporate Engagement and Director of the Employability Service to achieve this.



Alumni supporting employability of students and recent graduates

To develop a pool of engaged alumni who can support the curriculum development of courses to ensure industry insight is embedded in Middlesex courses.

To develop and implement a network of alumni who can provide job opportunities to students in line with the University's employability strategy to include placement and internship opportunities, alongside access and support into graduate-level schemes and careers.

Working in close collaboration with the Director of Corporate Engagement and Director of the Employability Service to achieve this.

Recruitment and retention support

To scope out and deliver schemes that encourage alumni to endorse and recommend study at Middlesex to potential and current students e.g. engaging alumni to support recruitment activities e.g. Open Days and contribution to offline/online promotional campaigns or providing keynote lectures to current students to provide insight into future careers.

Development



* To develop and deliver the Development strategy and associated tactical plans for the Development programme with clear objectives, outlines and mechanisms for evaluation.

* To deliver the major gift fundraising strategy, embedding strong stewardship and relationship management systems.

* To manage the University's scholarship programme, working with the Executive, Faculties, Corporate Engagement team and key external stakeholders to build the programme.

* To develop and execute the strategy for donor and alumni data on the University's main systems.

* To develop strong and innovative communications for key donors and alumni, building a community and strong affinity towards the institution.


Profile

You will have either Alumni & Supporter Relations management experience or Senior Internal Communications management experience.


Job Offer

£50,000 - £58,200 per annum Permanent plus a generous holiday package.
