In Kind Direct
About In Kind Direct
Founded in 1997 by HRH The Prince of Wales, In Kind Direct distributes consumer goods donated by companies to UK charities working in the UK and overseas. They work with not-for-profit organisations and companies to help ensure that everyone has access to life's essentials and that no usable product goes to waste.
In Kind Direct is a commercially-oriented social enterprise that runs a B2B model, partnering with significant branded donor companies such as Amazon, Johnson & Johnson, Disney and P&G and is the leading UK authority in the consumer product giving sector, with a growing international network.
Their model involves manufacturers and retailers donating their new, surplus consumer products, and using an integrated ecommerce platform, In Kind Direct distributes the products to the doors of charities; supporting more than 9,000 so far. From essential toiletries and cleaning supplies to office and sports equipment, cooking utensils to clothes, tools and toys – these products are desperately needed to run charities’ services and for them to give to their beneficiaries.
