Are you someone with a passion for all things next generation digital? Someone who lives and breathes digital media and understands the true extent of its power? Start a department from scratch with the BBC, and help us to become the most creative organisation in the world.
The world is changing, audiences are changing and the way the BBC goes about its mission – creating inspiring content that informs, educates and entertains – is changing too. One part of this change is our decision to set up a team of digital content innovators in Birmingham, Europe’s youngest city.
Shaping, leading and inspiring the team is a job that calls for real vision. A job that’s about dreaming up new ways to reach young audiences with content of the future. And with the entire digital world at your fingertips, there’s no limit to where you could take us.
What you’ll do
In charge of a team of digital creatives and creative technologists, you’ll nurture their ideas and discover new ways of putting the BBC front and centre of the digital market.
That means working closely with BBC channels and brands including Radio 1, CBBC, & BBC Three, as well as BBC Future Media’s R&D Team to get a real understanding of our audiences. Equipped with that understanding, it then means making innovative use of online technologies, social and mobile to make the biggest possible impact.
A bit about you
An experienced and ambitious creative lead, you’ll know all about digital content innovation and back it up with a strong editorial skillset and proven storytelling ability. Your natural leadership skills mean you’ll have no problem building, inspiring and motivating a switched on team. And your interpersonal skills will extend to the wider business too.
Our dreams are big, our expectations bigger. So to deliver to them you’ll need knowledge of market trends and opportunities, an appreciation of evolving digital trends and an understanding of the impact they have on our audiences. Take an adventurous and creative approach to everything you do, and you’ll put the BBC in an exciting new position.
The benefits you’ll get
Our people really do make the BBC who we are, so we reward them fairly for their contribution.
That means 25 days’ annual leave, a defined contribution pension scheme, life assurance, accident benefit scheme and interest-free season ticket loans in addition to access to the BBC Training & Development Academy, offering you world-class training in all areas of broadcasting.
