Effective marketing strategies and tactics can make a real contribution to commercial success – not least in challenging times – and that’s been amply demonstrated in this substantial UK subsidiary of a major international group. The business is a major name in its sector and in the last two years new markets have been targeted, new products introduced and new audiences addressed. Imaginative communications have been important, but there have been plenty of other contributing factors, not least closer alignment and stronger relations with both sales and manufacturing. Still, though a lot has been achieved, there’s plenty to be done in turning further initiatives into profits. Our ideal candidates will have a fully strategic grasp of marketing and, crucially, the ability to turn great ideas into profitable realities. Probably graduates, almost certainly CIM qualified, they’ll have particular strengths in marketing communications – ideally both B2B and B2C – and the leadership skills to get the best from an established and committed team. They’ll also have the influencing skills to build the strong relationships with senior colleagues that are essential in delivering cohesive action, so we’ll be looking above all for professional skills and interpersonal talents rather than expertise in a particular sector.
