Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College is the largest further education college in London, offering sixth form, vocational and higher education courses. On the front line of the drive to increase employability and create a skilled workforce, the further education sector is changing rapidly and operates in an increasingly competitive and commercial marketplace. Our ability to develop our products, attract learners, establish new income streams and create a culture of enterprise will be vital if we are to provide life-changing learning experiences for those who train or study with us.
We have created a new role, Director of Marketing & Commercial Development, to lead these activities. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive, and a member of the senior management team, your key responsibilities will be:
• Leading, managing and developing the College’s Marketing & Communications, Commercial and Business Development functions, ensuring that they drive the further development of an entrepreneurial culture throughout the College.
• Leading the development and implementation of a new Marketing and Communications strategy, which supports the Strategic Plan and establishes the College as a distinctive, confident and independent organisation.
• Leading on the development and implementation of a new commercial growth strategy which establishes significant and sustainable new income streams and a delivery mechanism which is of the highest standard and which operates within the context of the College’s Learner First strategy.
This is an exciting new role at the heart of the College. To succeed, you’ll have a strong professional background in marketing, together with the commercial acumen to create opportunities, partnerships and enterprises that both develop income and add colour to the rich tapestry of experiences we can offer our learners. A background in the education sector is not essential, but you’ll need the creativity to engage with such a dynamic customer base whilst also understanding how to make things happen effectively within a large and complex organisation.
In return, we offer you the chance to develop your career and help us maximise the impact we make through this exciting and challenging time in the sector.
